Raoul Brand

music & sound design

info & credits

Raoul Brand, sound designer and composer, was born and raised in Düsseldorf. In 1994 he moved to London where he created bespoke music and sound design for television and advertising. Credits include award-winning documentaries for BBC and Channel 4, as well as worldwide campaigns for Audi, Nike and BMW.

In a parallel career as a musician and producer, he worked with internationally renowned artists such as Carl Douglas of “Kung Fu Fighting” fame and performed his own music at the Royal Albert Hall and on tour with Mica Paris.

In 2011, building on his experience in corporate advertising, he applied and was accepted to study film sound design at the NFTS (National Film and Television School). His graduation film “Z1” was awarded “best short film” at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) and in 2014 he received a Golden Reel award nomination in Los Angeles for his work on the animation film “First Light”.

Since then he has worked on many highly acclaimed TV documentaries – such as the 2x BAFTA and RTS award winner “The Paedophile Hunter” for Channel 4 – and independent films – such as the BAFTA nominated short “Emotional Fusebox” and the multi-award winning “The Chicken”, which won the European Film Awards in 2014.

“I strive to produce creative soundtracks that are tailored to the aesthetic and narrative flow of the individual project whilst maintaining high professional standards in all my work.”
