I created the sound design and ambient music for this short film by writer/director Faye Gilbert who says: ‘Raoul has been the most creative sound designer that I have ever worked with. He was not only a great collaborator on Leaving Eva but also brought so many of his own ideas to the film. His sound design was instrumental in creating the post apocalyptic atmosphere that we needed in the film. His fusion of musical and discordant sounds also reinforced the underlying emotions that could have otherwise have been lost in the film. I really look forward to working with him again.’

Part of Channel 4′s Psycho series

It is July 2003 and a 14-year-old boy, John, is the victim of a near-fatal stabbing in Altrincham near Manchester. His 16-year-old friend Mark is the chief suspect. But why would a teenager who has never been in any trouble try to kill his best friend?

An incredible story emerges of how Mark has been recruited over the web to be a secret service agent by a spy mistress called Janet Dobinson. She promises him sex and riches if he passes an initiation test: to kill his friend John. The schoolboy is propelled into a world of espionage; his bland suburban surroundings become a landscape of mystery and intrigue.

But in court, facing charges of attempted murder, Mark finally learns the truth – Janet and a host of other people he met on the internet are all fictitious characters invented by someone bent on manipulating his every move. But who would know enough to trick him into attempting murder?

Mies van der Rohe: Less is More
This episode features the German architect, Mies van der Rohe, who moved to America and discovered the face of the modern corporate city. In this highly personal account, art critic Robert Hughes follows in Mies’ footsteps looking at how an architect who began his career making kitschy, Hansel and Gretel style houses with pointy roofs, little windows and squat floorplans transformed himself into the master of international modernism – the architect of light and space.

Mies is the father of the contemporary vogue for loft living – what he was building in the 1920s still looks futuristic now. Similarly, his New York masterpiece the Seagrams Building provided the blueprint for the modern office building – without Mies no major city on Earth would look as it does.

But despite his undeniable impact there is something in Mies’ work that Hughes finds shockingly neglectful of real human needs. This master builder could spend days working out how to turn a corner with a skilfully placed beam and totally ignore the legitimate wishes and desires of those who used his buildings.
